Kim Lowes, a 20 year resident of the Township of Uxbridge, Ontario, Canada, spent the first 25 years of his career working summers in Northern Ontario at a residential children's camp. Throughout this time, he developed his love of nature and was able to pursue his enjoyment of photography part time. Since his retirement in 2005, Kim has now been able to dedicate himself full time to his passion. His long time quest has, over the years, taken him to destinations throughout the world. Of note were his trips to China, Nepal, Australia, Botswana, England and Mexico. During his travels, he has photographed many species of birds, wildlife and special cultural events.

Photographic trips, with experienced photographers, have enhanced his skills and interests, but he believes there is no substitute for being in the field learning from ones successes and failures. To this end, he is presently offering guided tours to southwest Florida, an area with which he is highly familiar.

Kim has exhibited in Canadian galleries, government offices, as well as galleries in the United States. He has won numerous awards at local camera clubs and juried shows and has been published in commercial brochures and video promotions. Presently his photographs are hanging in private collections in the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom and Australia.

Kim Lowes' goal is simple; namely, capturing images of emotion and life. He is a wildlife enthusiast and this factor is fundamental to his success as a wildlife photographer. The more he achieves, the more he realizes that photography is all about understanding your subject, capturing the emotion and sharing this knowledge with the viewer. He has come to believe that the camera accounts for 10% and actualization is the other 90%. His goal is to create images that stir viewers into seeing the beauty that is around us and to encourage people to assist in the enhancement and protection of the natural world.
